Unrelenting National Dream

©burgseye 1996

this smug sporting nation
whose one dimensional dream
blurs the line between passion and unhealthy obsession
is prepared for anything but losing
and when it does, the collective consciousness
is anything but sporting

If you lived in Wales (yes, land of dead miners, radioactive sheep and cawl), you would be dragged into the street, tied to the nearest post, and be unceremoniously burnt alive, for such a perceived blatant lack of patriotism.

Therefore, count your lucky stars, that it's only because you live in such a small, insignificant, and meaningless little country, that you can get away with pretending to have more balls than it takes to play rugby!Ha ha ha ha ha!

Dear Astrologically Impaired (Who could it be?),
Blind patriotism is to blame for all manner of futile destruction and shameful behaviour so best not to encourage it, eh? At least for this insignificant country it is under it's own sovereignty. If Wales werer allowed to govern itself, lets hope it would better than at that, than it is at 'that stupid English game'. Stop eating the atomic lamb and keep the homefires burning...

Second Bests

In the degradation of the great way
come benevolence and righteousness.
With the exaltation of learning and prudence
comes immense hypocrisy.
The disordered family
is full of dutiful children and parents.
The disordered society
is full of patriots.
